On 29 December 2020, the High Commissioner of Rwanda and ASEACC's Co-Chairman met and conversed on trade and commerce between Rwanda and Southeast Asia. 


GTR Africa Virtual 

October 20 to 23, 2020

GTR Africa 2020 Virtual, the premier trade and export finance event for Sub-Saharan Africa, has taken place on October 20-23.

Drawing on the high-level expertise, comprehensive market coverage and unrivalled industry connections of GTR’s Africa-focused gatherings in Cape Town, Victoria Falls and London, this exciting new initiative combined a mixture of live-streamed and pre-recorded content and targeted networking with over 2,000 attendees through GTR’s dynamic virtual event platform.

Spread over 4 days and combining 3 distinct events into the one extended virtual offering to capture a wider audience, this new format provided the opportunity for more detailed focus on key markets, innovation, trade and commodity flows, infrastructure and the wider implications of global disruption.

Fully supported and endorsed by Africa’s leading financial institutions, DFIs, multilaterals and various governments, participants benefitted from unrivalled opportunities to connect with a wider audience and do business in ‘the new normal’, sharing insights and expertise, and providing clarity at a time of great uncertainty.


GTR East Africa Virtual 

October 1 to 2, 2020


GTR East Africa 2020 took place virtually this year on October 1-2 in light of Covid-19 restrictions.

With the support from a host of leading trade finance players alongside key supranational and industry bodies, GTR East Africa Virtual utilised GTR’s bespoke virtual platform to deliver a comprehensive range of live-streamed and pre-recorded
content and unrivalled networking opportunities, focusing on key trade sectors from commodities and agribusiness, to the
development of local value-add industry and achieving digital innovation.


GTR Asia Virtual 

September 8 to 11, 2020

GTR Asia 2020, the world's largest trade finance gathering, took place virtually this year, over 4 days on September 8-11. 

This exciting new initiative encompassed all the key aspects of the live conference experience in a digital format, retaining GTR's core focus on networking, collaboration and knowledge sharing, traders, banks, insurers, lawyers, technology companies, non-bank financiers, government agencies and investors. 


GTR Asia Trade & Treasury Week

September 4 to 7, 2018

Firmly established as the largest international event in the trade, treasury and commodity finance market, this flagship event is set to welcome over 1,000 delegates, enjoying the full support of Enterprise Singapore and the Ministry of Trade & Industry.

With trade now in the headlines more than ever before and with global concerns over protectionism and trade barriers continuing to escalate, this year’s gathering will consider both the key risks and primary opportunities from a geopolitical perspective, as well as the ongoing industry discussions over market disruption, new market entrants and the role of technology.

Africa-Singapore Business Forum 2018

Organised by Enterprise Singapore, the forum has brought together over 2,000 business and government leaders from 30 countries to develop opportunities and partnerships between these two dynamic regions.

ASBF 2018 addressed critical issues and identify opportunities in key sectors, including real estate, oil and gas, digital economy and manufacturing. The forum will also address the important question of financing when doing business in Africa.


Africa Sovereign Wealth Funds Summit 2018

Mr Paulo Gomes and Mr Kelvin Tan, Chairman of the Advisory Board and Secretary-General of ASEACC, attended the Africa Sovereign Wealth Funds Summit 2018 in Ghana. In attendance was H.E. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of Ghana. Panelists included Mr Solomon Asamoah (CEO, Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund), Mr Mamadou Mbaye (Executive Director, FONSIS, Senegal), Mr Kola Owodunni (Head, Investment Risk, Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority), Mr Tariq Senhaji (CEO, Ithmar Capital, Morocco SWF), Mr Patrick Shyaka (CEO, Agaciro Development Fund, Rwanda) and Mr Michael Kottoh (Managing Partner at Konfidants).

Singapore - Angola Business Roundtable

The Singapore – Angola Business Roundtable organised by Singapore Business Federation (SBF), in partnership with Enterprise Singapore (ESG) and Africa South East Asia Chamber of Commerce (ASEACC), was held on 8 May 2018. The Roundtable was chaired by Mr. S.S. Teo, Chairman of SBF and Co-Chairman of ASEACC, while the Angola Government delegation was led by H.E. Manuel Domingos Augusto, Angola Minister of External Relations.

The demand for convenience and processed food is growing in Nigeria. Nigeria’s packaging and food processing market is one of the largest in Africa, estimated at about US$545 million. However, the agriculture and agribusiness industry is plagued with numerous challenges including business, infrastructure and regulatory problems. These provide numerous investment opportunities for the Africa-savvy investor. Dr Adefolake Adeyeye, a Nigerian citizen and Research Fellow of the NTU-SBF Centre for African Studies, has researched these possibilities. Joining her to discuss these issues was Mr Venkataramani Srivathsan, Managing Director & CEO, Africa and the Middle East, Olam International Ltd.

Bringing Francophone Africa to the National University of Singapore
